Word of Life Ministries (“Word of Life,” “we”) runs this website and the Word of Life app. We keep what we collect to a minimum, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising. This page explains what is collected and why.
Information you send us
Some pages have forms: the newsletter sign-up on Get Involved, the Faith & Freedom sign-up, and the question form on Podcasts. If you use one, we receive what you type, such as your name, email address, city, and your question or message. We use it only to reply to you, to send the newsletter or updates you asked for, and to run the ministry that the form belongs to.
These forms are delivered to our email by a form service called FormSubmit. It passes your entries to us and does not give us any other information about you. You can ask us to remove your details or to stop sending you email at any time (see Contact below).
Information collected when you visit
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records things like the pages you view, your device and browser, your approximate location (city level), how you found the site, and whether you used the website or the installed app. It uses cookies. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not use it for advertising.
Our website host, Cloudflare, also keeps basic traffic counts and security logs, such as your IP address and the pages requested, to keep the site running and safe.
If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, our statistics are switched off for you.
Other services on this site
- Videos. Messages and other videos play from YouTube. When you play one, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy.
- Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google can see your IP address when a page loads.
- Giving. Online giving is handled by EasyTithe on its own website. We never see or store your card or bank details.
- Calendar and event sign-ups. Calendar information and some registrations come from Planning Center / Church Center, which has its own privacy policy.
- Links elsewhere. Links to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other sites take you away from ours. Their privacy practices are their own.
What stays on your device
The “Continue watching” card, saved messages in the app, and the choice to hide our app tip are saved in your own browser or app. They are not sent to us, and you can clear them any time by clearing the site’s data in your browser settings.
Cookies and your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. To opt out of Google Analytics in every browser, use Google’s opt-out add-on. Using a browser that sends “Do Not Track” also turns our statistics off.
Who sees your information
Our staff who need it to answer you or run a ministry, and the service providers named above (FormSubmit, Google, Cloudflare, EasyTithe, Planning Center) when you use their part of the site. We do not sell or rent your information. We will share it only if the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.
Children
This site is for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through the site. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change how this site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
